1. Lambus: the all-in-one planner
Free version: yes · Pro from €24.99/year · fully in German
The German all-rounder from Hamburg, known from “Die Höhle der Löwen”. Route with stops, accommodation, bookings and documents in one place, plus built-in cost splitting for the group. If you want a planner in German that covers everything organizational, this is it. The photo gallery exists, but is visibly a side feature: no statements on quality, limits or rights.

2. Mymories: one album for all your memories
Free version: yes · Basic & Ultra one-time, no subscription · fully in German
One of the most important things about traveling is making new memories. And because you want to keep those memories, you need one place where the photos of everyone on the trip come together, instead of staying scattered across eight phones. That is exactly what Mymories is for: create an event for your trip, share the link in your travel group, and everyone uploads their photos and videos to the shared album, on the road or after the trip. No forced app for the others, original quality, with a live view for the whole group. The free version is all you need to get started; for more photos and 4K video there are Basic and Ultra as one-time upgrades, no subscription.

3. Polarsteps: the automatic travel journal
Free version: yes · Plus €29.99/year · photo book from €36
Less planner, more memory: the app records your route via GPS and builds a chronological travel journal from it, which you can later order as a printed photo book (from around €36). Shared photography works via “Travel Together”, but is fiddly: best have one person create the steps, otherwise duplicates appear.

4. Wanderlog: plan together like in a Google Doc
Free version: yes · Pro $39.99/year · English only
The Google Docs of travel planners: several people plan route and program at the same time, map and plan in one view. Very strong for the planning phase, in English. You cannot share photos here.

5. TripIt: the booking organizer
Free version: yes · Pro $49/year · English, US-focused
The classic for frequent travelers: forward booking confirmations by email, TripIt builds the itinerary from them. The Pro version ($49 a year) adds flight alerts. For group photos TripIt offers nothing, and the app is heavily focused on the US market.

6. Splitwise: the travel fund
Free version: only 3 entries/day · Pro $39.99/year
The best-known app for the travel fund: enter expenses, and at the end the app calculates who owes whom what. Since the free version was limited to three entries per day, alternatives like Tricount or Settle Up are worth a look for longer trips.
